Dear Students and Parents/ Guardians,

Welcome back/to FMS!  My name is Ms. Escobedo and I teach Visual Art.  I am delighted to have you in my class this year.  I hope to aid in making your experience in art an enjoyable one.  It is my goal to assist you in becoming a creative, independent, and deep thinker.

First, we must discuss the expectations of my classroom in order to have a successful school year!

What is Visual Art?

Visual Art is the study of 3D design and sculpture. Although we will focus on 3D art, we will also create 2D art for a better understanding and connection between the fundamental elements of art. Furthermore, we will study new and old art trends and critique artwork. Lastly, students will be able to explore their personal creativity and express it in a way that is comfortable and unique to them.

Attendance: It is very important that you come to class.  If you are absent or were at band/orchestra/chorus/etc…, you are still responsible for the assignments you missed while out of class.  There will be several “home assignments” through out the year which students will be given ample time to complete. All important notications are on the following class website: http://fmsescobedo.wix/fmsartescobedo.

Falling Behind or Need Extra Time: If you ever feel you need more time to complete classwork, please come and speak with me immediately.  Students are able to come in during this lunch, before or after school.  If you plan on staying  before/after school, you must provide a permission slip or note from parent/guardian. Depending on the medium we are working with, you may also be able to bring it home to work on.

If you have any questions feel free to email me at nicole.escobedo@msdk12.net
